Interesting view by Wills. Hangover from fitness testing and jitters?
Wonder why not just shaking off the rust, being the first time on the ice this year

They've been on the ice all summer. This isn't 1980.

Well, it's not their first time on the ice. Maybe he saw the captain's skates and thought they were sharper then.

Solovyov and he looks quite smooth out there with some great stick work; I’m really hoping he pushes for a spot!

I think he was slotted in Group 2, which skates after Group 1.

He made a pretty sweet play in that vid when being forechecked.

Does this mean he only missed one day of camp? Or is his full participation and eligibility for the team still in question?

Scorpion probably would be best to speak to it too but he's was great for the Wranglers too.

Poirier gets a lot of the attention but I think in terms of all around game Solovyov did more of the heavy lifting.

To be fair, fitness testing can be extremely taxing. The athletes are literally testing their limits, which requires pushing themselves to their limits. To expect them to be at 100% after that, without adequate recovery, isn't realistic.

After fitness testing, if you've put in proper effort, you should get that feeling that you are sore in muscles you didn't know you had. You'll be doing a lot of movements you wouldn't typically do.

Not to mention, of course the young players are going to have jitters.

Its very obvious, that spots are available to be won

While these dudes are highly trained, the fitness testing can kick the #### out of you physically.

Not being optimal the day after isn't surprising.

Seeing as he followed it up with saying they are much sharper with more jump today, and the whole point of training camp is to get into season-ready shape and play, I see no issue.

Solovyov was the Wranglers' best defenseman for much of last year, highly underrated
