Honestly I struggle with what to believe at this point and really feels like people covering there bases, some of it could be negotiating tactics too.

In the last week I've heard that all of Hanifin, Lindholm, and Toffoli want or don't want to be here depending on the sources, and that the Flames are being aggressive on either re-signing them or shopping them.

Good news I guess, although I believe the Flames need to do a full tear down.

But since they won't, bringing Lindholm back is likely as good as it gets.

good. I know many love putting together ultrarealistic ( ) trade packages for him, but right-handed centermen who can play in all situations and put up great numbers are pretty rare in this league.

If they can make it 6 years instead of 8 that would be ideal. Just give that man his money.

Two guys signed into their late thirties seems plenty already.

7 UFAs; they gotta keep some of them. Might as well be the best one in the most important position

For a team that won’t rebuild , you pretty much have to keep him. It’s all going to come down to dollars. My guess the number starts with a 9 on an 8 year deal if flames want to keep him.

Good! The jersey I gave my son for Christmas has a larger chance of being worn this next season!

...this is really the only true reason he should stay, right? Think of the fans with Lindholm jerseys!

His value for 8 years is probably 8M

If they offer him 9+AAV it's probably 7 or 6 years in length

I really hate the extra years just to keep a guy. If he's demanding 8 years or he goes elsewhere then just trade the guy.

We can't have three massive price tags for unmovable 37 year olds after we've raised the next gen of Flames and are in the new building. That's an easy way to kill hope for the future

I'm sure he's open to it but money talks. Sounds like he may be asking for a lot.

Yeah, I'd also be interested in not having to move if I got a raise.

Trade all 7. It is a unique opportunity to do a retool on the fly.

If Lindholm stays it changes everything. Someone needs to go and I'd be ok if that player was Hanifin as he will bring back a ton and cost a lot in contract.

There is no chance he is getting less than the bo horvat contract.

Sure but isn’t the Calgary market price higher than the normal market price for top players? It’s a small market canadian team on a lot of players NTC.

I guess Lindholm's ask has to be based on what he thinks he'd get as a UFA. But a lot of teams already have a 1C and a lot of have a couple high paid centres already. So his market isn't as big as he might think. And a lot of the ones that don't are rebuilding (so no use for him) or are just not attractive destinations.

It'd be funny if he would up in Fla and pushed Bennett to 3C

if only one of the 7 is traded this summer, it absolutely needs to be Toffoli. He's 31, coming off a career season, on a killer contract next season ... his value will never ever be higher. Absolutely need to cash in.

Now you know why I said I would be shocked if he was not re-signed.
