Fort Macleod PRIDE Drag Show Targeted, Empress Theatre Damaged

During the Fort Macleod PRIDE event on Saturday, August 26, 2023, officers were called to the Empress Theatre at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Empress Theatre board chair Denise Joel said the festivities included a drag show at the theatre Saturday evening. She told LNN that she was sitting in the theatre, and about 10 minutes into the show, everyone could smell something “quite noxious.”
Joel stated that a group of youths seated near the back of the theatre had a jar of what the RCMP said was Fisher and Marten lure.

The Empress Theatre is temporarily closed and will remain so until an adjustor can determine the exact damages.
“It’s incredibly disheartening to hear what happened, just simply because this is a historic building and it means a lot to southern Alberta and the people of Fort Macleod, and to have it defaced like that is really just very sad actually,” said Joel.
She explained, “This is a 112-year-old floor and it’s had something leaked into it, so we don’t know what kind of damage it caused.”

I am pretty sure that theatre can be seen in the Jul 4th street scene in Brokeback Mountain. I am not sure if it is irony or not, but kind funny that a town that was the backdrop for an incredible film that was a love story between two men, is now the town that vandalizes theatres for having entertainment with sexual ambiguity.

Reading about it, it is their 4th annual pride in the park event, and it seems the first 3 didn't have any issues.
It's the same thing all over North America. Pride events and drag shows have been going on for the past decade even in somewhat conservative towns without much issue. It's all about online campaigns through social media to target and disrupt as many of these events as possible to get some wins against the woke mob.
It's a shame that real people are getting hurt all because of these organized hate groups manipulating their followers and getting them worked up into a frenzy.
