Hot takes/Bold predictions mid Summer 2023
Hot Takes for the 2023 summer. Mods please delete if there is another on the go somewhere.
A random thought I had today because of the truculence discussion in another thread.
My Hot take 2023 is that this may be one of the last seasons you will see fighting in the NHL.
I'm not sure where I stand with it at the moment. I'm just seeing trends in other major sports to reduce head trauma where ever possible.

I refuse to participate because there will be too many bold predictions and not enough hot takes.

Hot take=
a quickly produced, strongly worded, and often deliberately provocative or sensational opinion or reaction
you are correct I will re-word.
The 2023/2024 NHL season will be the last one that will allow fighting. This is due to the recent hockey Canada scandal in which it was found that fighting fosters an environment which virility, courage, strength, and power .

Still a bold prediction and not a hot take.

Hot takes are hard to come up with.
It has to be something like Huberdeau outscores McDavid

Hot take. Flames win the division on the back of the young players injected into the lineup and a re-energized Jonathan Huberdeau who scores 95+ points. CP remains convinced Huberdeau is waste of a jersey and demands his trade while he has some value remaining.

Rename it “Bold Predictions or Hot Takes”. Boom. Problem solved.

Hmmm. A hot take is that the Oilers are actually good and Edmonton is a nice place to live?

McDavid shatters Huberdeau's NHL record for point decrease season over season by putting up a meager 20 points next year.

Flames related
Ruzicka finishes the year with 20 goals and secures a top 6 role on a consistent basis by Christmas.
Mangiapane is traded before the season starts.
Other teams:
Leafs struggle and miss the playoffs by 3 points.
Buffalo finally makes the playoffs.

The Oilers will take a big brown hot take on the ice again this year when Leon and Connor fail to produce enough to give them the cup that they know they have coming.

Is it a hot take if it’s true?
