Has to be another bonus heavy deal... expecting a big overpay if just a one year deal.

Players want to see what the cap increase will look like so they are taking short term deals. Leafs likely are moving Nylander for a Dman you would think?

Just surprised he didn't hang out in Boston as they could match whatever Toronto is paying I would assume

Yeah, but at the same time, the free agent markets next year and the year after look like they are going to be over saturated, which could hurt the market for them. Granted, a lot of these guys may sign extensions before actually hitting the market.

I don't see him as a great fit there. They clearly want to be more aggressive, tough to play against etc but they don't have the D core to kill those penalties and the forwards that would be doing some of that lifting are, well, Reaves & Bertuzzi

Good thing they're not spending their available money on defensively-aware blueliners.

Or goaltending. The Leafs and the Oilers always have the same MO, all you need is more offence. Keep that failboat going.

Muzzin on LTIR, and they could attach a pick or prospect to dump Murray's contract.

Oh yeah forgot. Still, Murray is healthy at the moment and I guess they can find a reason to LTIR him if he agrees but not sure he would, contract year and such. Unless he is calling it a career.

Dumping that contract to another team is going to hurt.

How many legs does he actually have left? Could explain his skating style.

Well apparently Nylander has given his 10 team no trade list.
