Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2023 - Round 3 Run Off
Ultimately felt there was more intrigue in how the 16 votes that didn't pick one of the two would go in a repolling with only two choices, than calling Honzek the winner and then watching Pelletier run away with a land slide today.
Closed the poll at 10 votes
Honzek 158
Pelletier 148

Sticking with my pick purely based on ceiling/potential. A lot to like about both players though, and Pelletier has that extra character that teams covet.

I think Pelletier is a guaranteed NHLer at this point. Went with him.

There's just not enough of a sample size from Honzek to rank him above a player that's succeeded in the AHL and now is graduating to the NHL.

Higher ceiling over current floor. Honzek for me, and I have always been a big Pelletier fan.

Yeah this vote is basically the difference in these two voting styles.

Pelletier still for me. I wish Honzek had a full season in the WHL. Then again, if he did he's likely a top 10 pick in the draft.
Pelletier has played well in every league he has been in, so I am still going with the guy that has done it all thus far in his career and with a high likelihood (90%+) of being a graduated prospect.
I think Honzek likely wins it, and that's fine. Pelletier at 4 is fine for me too.

Maybe people forget Pelletier put up multiple 80+ point seasons in the CHL as it's not like he was an offensively challenged prospect. If you are in love with size then maybe Honek has a higher ceiling but they both were projected at their draft as 2nd/3rd line NHL upside. One player is very close to achieving that while the other hasn't even played a full season in the CHL. It's definitely a shiny new thing effect going on here but I get it.

Forget your Poirier vote last time, I need to know who the Kerins voter will go for this round!

So if Duehr made the cut off, would you be picking him before Honzek?

Interested to see who flips their original Honzek/Pelletier vote to the other.
