Default Bold Draft predictions

Mine:

1) Anaheim trades #2 to San Jose for #4 and #26

Reason- San Jose wants a center badly and drafts Fantilli at #2, Anaheim doesn't need a center and drafts Michkov at #4 and a goalie at #26

2) Calgary trades Lindholm to Carolina for Seth Jarvis, #62 and #71

3) Calgary drafts Nadeau at #48

4) Calgary drafts Kiiskinen at #62

5) Calgary drafts Squires at #71

Post yours, winner gets an official CP tootsie roll pop.

I think if Anaheim wants to do a trade with #2 and #4 involved, it would get quite a bit more than the #26.

Michkov drops to the Capitals who draft him.
Ted Leonis negotiates him to be released from his Russian contract, and he joins the Caps next year. winning the Calder over Bedard.

Mitchkov will go outside the top 5.

Flames make at least two trades that week, One on the draft floor that involves a unsuspecting player. Picking twice in the top 16.

Oilers pay their first to make room for Bouchard.

Not sure if this counts as a bold draft prediction because it won't come true until way after the draft but it is draft related:

Michkov doesn't ever play a game in the NHL

I love this game. Happy someone created a thread for it:
• Flames draft twice between 13-25 thanks to a Lindholm deal (I’m thinking Buffalo or New York)
• Montreal gets Michkov at 5
• Rangers make some desperation trade
• A week after the draft Treliving trades for Soros. Not draft related I know

Not bold, but I think CBJ do something desperate and that #3 is in play.

They've said they are walking out of the draft with a #1 centre.
To me that means they are going to draft Carlsson or Fantilli (if he somehow dropped).
They've been looking for their #1 centre for years, this is their chance. I think the chances of them trading the pick is <5%

Oilers do not have a first round pick this year. Although I could see them trading their 2024 first to make room for Bouchard.

I'll take a shot; Kadri is traded with the Flames retaining some salary.

Based on the fact that of all the press conferences, I haven't heard Conroy mention his name, but I could be wrong.

I can't see it. The #3 this year is likely to be their best player within a couple of years. The only thing that makes sense to move it for is a legit #1 center. Is an extended Matthews coming the other way?

At #3, you aren't getting a McDavid level player, but it's more of an Eichel situation with #2 and #3 this year.

That's why I say it's a bold DESPERATE move.

Win now. Perhaps trade for Kuznetsov + 8. Still draft in top 10, get a guy who could be #1 and wants out of WSH. (Hischier for #3 straight up - free up some cap for NJD to sign their 6 RFAs - that would be unexpected and bold.)

There are no guarantees in the draft. Kotkaanemi, Strome, Drouin - all time great #3 picks. Patrick at #2? Hell...Bennett at #4?

The guy CBJ picks could be the bust of this draft.

The question really is can whoever they pick at #3 make an impact before Laine, Jenner, & Provorov leave in 3 years.

Flames end up trading at least two of the 2024 UFAs. They end up making 5 picks in the top 60 (2 in the top 20).

No trades in the top 10 from anyone. Michkov goes 2nd overall.

A player ranked outside the top 15 (in most draft orders) goes in the 6 to 10 range.

Indeed that would be a bold prediction.

The last one is guaranteed.

This is not a normal draft. The #3 pick this year trumps many #1 picks.
