Reasonable trade return for Lindholm?
With the Toffoli return in the books I wonder if many are recalibrating the potential return in a deal with Lindholm. Just curious what others see as a minimal return for him?
Personally I think a mid 1st rounder this year up until about pick 18 is the minimal I would expect with not getting annoyed. Others thoughts?

Imo, if you’re not getting minimum first plus good prospect, hang on to him until the deadline.

If he's traded I think the Flames will get a 1st rounder but it'll be a 2024 1st rounder from a playoff caliber team, so a later 1st rounder a year away.
Plus a young NHL player, and a prospect that gets a very mixed reaction from this fan base, so not a blue chip.

I don’t think Lindholm gets traded tonight but if he did it would probably be something similar to PLD.

I'm not expecting him to be moved this week. I get the feeling this is turning into a bit of a Gaudreau situation where the player is leading on the team and the GM is content to let the player steer the ship. If I was Lindy I would do the same thing in hopes I could play out the deal and choose my next team next summer. If you are the Flames you really have to table your best offer and move on if it's not accepted.

I am fine waiting for a better offer. Like I said, this UFA class is one of the worst ones in the last decade. Teams are going to be willing pay something if they don't get one of the better players in free agency.

Blue chip prospect +1st. Or young potential NHL ready player + 1st. Flames literally have the best two way Center available, really hope Conroy doesn’t screw this up.

Should get more than Newhook obviously but the timing may hurt us for first round 2023 draft picks. First round picks are easier to acquire at the deadline when teams are making a push to win now or picks in later years , 1 or 2 years away.
This is a much deeper draft as well.
If Conroy wants a 1st this year maybe its one in the 27 to 32 range and a good roster player or prospect??
I think a sign and trade is the only way we get a decent 1st round pick.

Young ish roster player who won't become an all-star and a second in 2024

I have a feeling the Flames will not get their asking price met. The media is portraying that the Flames are not even talking trade with other teams in hopes he signs. I hope that is a smokescreen but have doubts they are focused on anything other than getting him signed. I hope it all changes with a phone call

A playoff healthy scratch and a third round pick and you’re going to like it!

If we are getting trash offers then we are better off keeping Lindholm imo. Conroy has made it clear that the pending UFA's will be moved if they aren't wanting to sign here long term. By March of 2024, it would be a crime if he still didn't know who wanted to stay. Also gives Lindholm time to try and build the value for a good extension, assuming we don't re-sign him. We could also be terrible, which means Lindholm will be a highly coveted piece.
Lindholm is still a big question mark but He or Backlund need to go and Hanifin still needs to go. As long as Backlund and Hanifin are taken care of I am okay with waiting on Lindholm. It's hard to find centers of his calibre via free agency, so I'd prefer to keep him if the offers are not there. It's likely the classic case of bullying on the new GM, but Conroy isn't having it. I respect that.

I don't think any mid- 1st round picks are on the table for 2023, and have always thought they'd be very hard to come by.
I don't think he gets traded today, but if he does, it will be for player with about 3 years experience who is a RFA with potential to pop, a first round pick in 2024 and another decent pick (either 2023 or 2024 or a decent prospect).
It won't be what most here were expecting, but it will be an OK return.
I actually think he'll sign here for about $9.5M.

A young blue chip prospect with some nhl experience and a 1st in 2024. It’s a deep draft this year not just for our team , but all teams . Can easily see teams not wanting to trade this years first. That said think flames will give lindholm a lot more time to make decision. Think it’s the wrong way to play it .

Do you think the Flames will trade their #1C if they’re in a playoff spot at the deadline?

I'll put the kiss of death on this. I don't think Lindholm gets traded today. He won't get traded for another month, and the return will be underwhelming based on expectation bouncing around here. I expect a trade for 22-25 year old player that can play right now, an AHL pro close to making the jump, and then another prospect or draft pick in the 2nd/3rd round. This would all be without an extension in place. Using Carolina as an example I would say Lindholm for Jack Drury, Noel Gunler, and Anttoni Honka would fit the framework. With an extension, jump up a level for the top player and pick going back. Using Carolina again as an example, Lindholm for Seth Jarvis, Aleksi Heimosalmi, and a 1st round pick in 2024/2025.
