Not ideal to lose a couple season on the wrong side of 30.

Terrible. Hard not to like his style of play. Does it all.

Whenever I see long-term injuries like these, I mostly hope the players are just able to live normally outside of hockey. These guys really do put their bodies through a lot to win

Two full seasons off? I'd be surprised if he ever plays again.

That's unfortunate for Landeskog as two years is a long time to be out. Lindholm has to look like an attractive option for next season.

Marc Methot tweeted that this is the same Dr and surgery that he had...and his knee never recovered to the point that he could skate an an NHL level again.
Landeskog is a bit younger, and a better player than Methot was, but I think there is a real chance Landeskog's career is over.

I know the Flames hate the world rebuild but it would seem the stars are aligning somewhat where if they wanted to aggressively retool, they'll have those options.

Not sure if it's should be considered rebuilding to move a player that's not going to re-sign with your team. IMO that's simply smart asset management.

For sure. I mean with the talk that Columbus is looking for a defenceman with their 2nd pick in the 1st round, the Avs need a centre, some players may still want out even wit Sutter gone etc. They have the opportunity to retool if they're hesitant to completely rebuild.
