The Islanders have traded defenceman Zach Werenski (1 x $7 million, RFA) to the Devils in exchange for forwards Pavel Buchnevich (RFA), Victor Olofsson (RFA), and Jagger Firkus (ECHL).

Needed to fill the void being left by Brady Skjei. I have been after Werenski a few times now so glad to finally get him.

Olofsson was going to be too expensive to justify playing him on the 4th line. Hate to lose Buch - especially after his great sim playoff but need to give to get.
