Default Who is John Bean? Why is this accountant a forefront piece in the organization.

While the fingers are pointed can we analyze who this guy is and why an accountant is so firmly planted in the organizations of CSEC? I can see having a smart guy to analyze the math, but is it getting in the head of the organization?

They used to do these end of season gatherings where Burke and Treliving would come and they started including him. (Wish they would do these again). Accountants just view this as an expense. I always found the honesty and approachability fun.

How many strings does he pull with his affiliation to the owner?

No offence to accountants, but this guys prominence in the sports organization is a little beyond my understanding. Does anyone know him? What does he do for our CF organization?

Do you think he was doing his parents tax returns then landed in CSEC's office? Grow up man

Just because he's terrible in front of a camera doesn't mean he's useless. Yeah, I agree, he should stick to the business side. I'm sure he'd agree as well. Felt like he was thrown into that press conference just as a fall guy for ownership

Sure makes you appreciate a guy like Ken King though, that's for sure

I don’t think he was as bad in the presser as some people say.

He seemed like an intelligent guy who is focused on what needs to be done more so than everyone’s feelings about it

1) End of season season ticket holder event cancelled in time of covid.
2) Accountant as a face of hockey op's.

1+2 equal weird.

Used to be we got a beer and a roast beef sandwich and weird sushi at the end of the year for suffering no post season.

John "The Counter" Bean would be an unreal MMA nickname for a former accountant.

He doesn't just handle Flames. He oversees CSEC as a whole. That means Flames, Wranglers, Stampeders, Roughnecks, and Hitmen. He's the owners spokesperson. Not the manager of hockey operations. This is exactly why the team announced a Hockey Ops president with Tre leaving. They need someone who knows hockey at that level.

Ken King wasn't a hockey person. He was a businessman for the organization; and a good one at that. One thing from that presser yesterday that I did think was the King likely would've handle Bean's role better. Man knew how to talk in front of mics. Also miss how engaging with the fans he was.

A rotting corpse could’ve handled the presser better than Bean. There’s such a thing as an executive presence. That man…does not have it.

Ken King was great. I think what i'm trying to connect here is without the GM, you are now in direct contact with Murray Edwards. I find this accountant and his role strange in that I don't see Pittsburgh or other teams trotting out the accountants. And again, I don't mean offence to accountants

I don't get all the complaints about his press conference. Have none of you ever spoken with someone who is high up in corporate structure? They all talk like that, and they are all highly protective of the organization. What the hell did you expect?

He’s President & CEO. The Flames aren’t “trotting out an accountant.”
