Not Solo? Interesting.

I believe in the Jays.

Not a D recall I'd have guessed... I figured if they were going to call someone up it'd be Solo or maybe Pysyk.

Wasn't the name that I expected but I guess good to get multiple guys some experience at the NHL level.

Cool! I like that we're finally getting a look at the farm on the big club. At least with more frequency than before.
Now, this could also mean he sits and watches Oesterle work his magic for 2 games...

Bit surprising as from most accounts he hasn't had the best season.
But from a physicality / size perspective maybe the GM thinks he replaces more of what Gilbert was bringing.

I would presume that Gilbert is out for at least the rest of this road trip
Unfortunately, Oesterle likely draws back in

Good skater. Decent shot from point he should use more. Physical.

I though Kuznetsov and Klapka were the Flames best players at the Penticton tournament. Interested to see how he does. He was super steady. Smooth customer.

Have never been a fan of the pick or player, but look forward to seeing if I'm way off base here.

Not a flashy player at all but effective.
Doubt he plays but glad to see him called up.

Will be interested to see if he does get a game or two in. Could just be a reward for playing well recently. I think he had a big game a couple weeks ago when Coronato had that 4 or 5 point game.

I thought it was a real solid pick at the time. I mean a big D, with no skating issues, playing well in the NCAA as a true freshman... in the 2nd round? Seems like a worthwhile call to make.
I really haven't seen him play enough to know how he's developed.

to me, this is a developmental call up, let him see what the gap between the NHL and AHl is.

I don't mind this. Kuznetsov has never been my favourite Wrangler defenceman but I think he's improved a bit this year. I don't love his skating but I'm curious to see how he does.

My thinking as well. This isn't a call up with a plan to play, just get a call up as an emergency back up plan as they are on the road. I really wish Poirier was healthy, as he would have had a looksie with the depth being the way it is.

Poirier and Pelletier getting healthy should factor into how aggressively Conroy sells.

Kuzy is also 2 years younger than Solo, so that might be a good experience for him to spend some time around the team.
I think giving younger players a look, and giving them feedback so they can improve, is a recipe for success in the long term. I like it much better than having the player in the organization for years and not knowing what we have in the player.

I'm digging the constant rotation and influx of youth. Let anyone who has earned it get their cup of coffee and experience the big show.

Is Poirier close at all? I thought I heard the time table for him was closer to March? But yeah you are right, getting some of those pieces back will help fill in some gaps and maybe give Conroy the ability to take more futures (picks or prospects still percolating). Klyington is also a bonus that could factor. Nothing against Kuznetsov, but throwing him to the wolves won't help his development if this team suddenly has holes with a Tanev and Haniffin departure.
