He would be a good add but I'm not sure he's a guy that takes them over the top or anything. I'm happy to see them give up a lot for him as he's not getting better with age.

If this means they don't get Chychrun then so be it. I don't like this as a Flames fan but it's better than the alternative. Good pickup for the Oilers.

Ekholm makes over 6 million. Can the Oilers even afford that? I can't imagine there would be salary retention as Ekholm has another few years on his deal (and is 32).
