This is a prime example of a team that is a similar caliber team as us, probably has more excuses when it comes to injuries and still, they sold despite having a reasonable chance to make the playoffs. You don't need to do this every year when you are a bubble team, but sometimes when you evaluate your team you need to be realistic. This year's Flames just don't seem to have it. There really has not been a point in the season where they looked like they could be a threat.
We won't sell though.

Only pending UFAs in the Flames lineup are Lucic, Lewis, Stone, and Ritchie. Nobody is taking them.

They should be selling players that are pending UFAs or near free agency (Lindholm, Hanifin), with money retained if needed.
It’s not just expiring players that get traded. Look back one year ago when we paid a premium for Toffoli, who was on a very reasonable deal just like Lindy and Hanifin.
