Taking a while to get to 5000

Man alive, Seattle coming out of the all star break like the Flames used to. Just awful.

Down 3-0,. Seattle and LA can both possibly drop out of a pacific/playoff spot if their play continues

Would make make me more hopeful if the Flames were actually playing well.
And LA’s cold streak is a loss and a tie in their last 2 games.
They went 3-2-1 on their long 6 game road trip.

Watching a team like the Rangers play, especially after the addition of Tarasenko, and it's very clear that the Teams to beat are all out East. It's almost like the West is a developmental league this year.

Minny and Seattle are actually playing poorly
Minny is 0-3 since the break and lost to the Yotes

Flames played the Rangers really well...its repeating that effort that has been the issue

Seattle must be pretty bad. When the Flames lost to NYR in OT it seems like a lot of people were shocked they could lose an important game and it was just more evidence that they are actually not good. Now, watching Seattle, they must be even worse to get doubled up 6-3 by the same team, right?

Watched around half of the Seattle/Rangers game and Seattle was looking about as good as when the Flames played them recently.
I haven’t paid attention to Seattle at all this year but having watched them twice recently I have no idea how they are even close to where they are in the standings. They play like a bottom feeder.

Seattle has 3 wins in their last 10 games
they are okay but teams probably took them lightly

They did it with mirrors in the first half, I swear. Tell me what players they have that are better than Calgary’s?

Before that, they did win 8 straight. They seem very streaky.

Wow! The Penguins came out like gangbusters in the 1st period. They had 25 shots to the Ducks 8. They just kept going all game like that and in the end it 59-31. Gibson was an absolute stud in net despite the loss. The Pens win puts them in 7th place in the eastern conf. Malkin scored his 1200th career point.
Samsonov makes 30 saves for the SHUTOUT and Tavares with 2 goals. Korpisalo made 38 saves in the loss. I wouldn't be surprised to see both goalies in net for the rematch in Toronto.
It was too little too late for the Kraken to try and come back from being down 5-1 in the 3rd period. Trochek and Kakko each had 2 points in the win. The Rangers were 2/3 on the PP and 4/5 on the PK.
The Bhawks win in the battle of western basement teams, yawn.

The Flames are 5 points back of Seattle and lose the tiebreaker so they are effectively 6 points back of Seattle.
In the last 30 games if Seattle goes 17-13, the Flames need to go 20-10 to pass them (109 point clip). In the last 30 games the Flames have played at a 14-9-7 clip (so basically 5 points below a 20-10 clip) so the Flames will have to be substantially better than they have been over the past 30 games). I suppose it is possible but Seattle has the easiest strength of schedule left so that is a huge factor as we all know.
It is the same math to pass the Oilers.
To pass Vegas, if the Knights go 16-13 down the stretch the Flames need to go 20-9-1 (112 point clip). Definitely appears to be wildcard or bust for the Calgary Flames.
