Are they trying to build the tallest blue line?
Oleksiak at 6'7, Megna at 6'6, Soucy at 6'5, Larsson and Borgen at 6'3.

I really hope the Flames don't make a trade like this one but I'm sure they will

If they gave a 4th for this guy, what is Treliving going to give up for Luke Schenn? I love Treliving, but he sure does trade picks like they’re going out of style.

Seattle has an abundance of 2023 draft picks, including three in the second round.. They could probably make some big deals.

Solid depth pickup. This team isn't at the point to go all in yet. Maybe in a few years. Stick with what's got them this far.

How about Phillips for a depth D. Flames are gonna lose Phillips for nothing anyway and it gives the kid a chance somewhere

Also, the Sharks were at their 50 contract limit. I'm sure they're in the market for promising young players.

Megna is 30, with another year left on his deal..

If Megna with another year left at league-minimum at age 30 is worth a 4th, Schenn at 33 with an expiring contract should be a 6th or 7th.

If it’s a 6th or 7th, that would be fine, I guess, although I’d really rather Treliving just hold onto all his picks in this draft. But I could easily see Treliving paying a 2nd for Schenn.

Edit: Zadorov and Gustafsson for a 3rd each, Fantenberg and Forbort for a 4th each, maybe it’ll be a 3rd-4th round pick….I still don’t want them trading picks this deadline.

they did make some bad picks...the modern expansion rules are an absolute layup

awesome protection rules, guaranteed top pick, full cap space to exploit

most of the league would swap their team for an expansion draft

well, Jaycob Megna has cleared waivers five times in his career (including in October 2021)
