How many Calgary Flames goalies can you name?

Since 1980, a total of 54 goalies have played at least one minute in the regular season for the Flames. How many can you name without using Google?

I got 38, as it turns out that "really fat Russian goalie" never played in the regular season.

I am also ashamed to say I completely forgot one of Calgary's "largest" names, and I also couldn't remember the goalie we got back from Toronto in the Gilmour trade

A few additional hints for some of the more obscure (?) ones:

- He holds the modern NHL record for consecutive minutes played without letting in a goal

- He was a former teammate of Miikka Kiprusoff in San Jose

- This "Legend" did not fare well in Calgary and was traded to NJ

- This recent Flames goalie is known for his culinary skills

- He is currently the goaltending supervisor for the NHL, which means he is in charge of measuring goalie equipment to make sure it doesn't exceed the size limits

- This goalie went on to win a Conn Smythe Trophy but not a Stanley Cup

- This southpaw and former Medicine Hat Tiger only played 9 minutes for the Flames

- His dad was an NHL goalie but he only lasted half a season in Calgary before getting traded

I got 35...totally forgot about a few of the 90's guys. Don't know a lot of the pre 84 guys either.

Flames and goaltenders remind me of the K.C. Chiefs and QB's. For a lot of years they have had to use veterans acquire through trade and free agency while missing in the draft. Hopefully they find their guy one of these days. You could say the same about centers too where they can't seem to draft anyone better than Backlund.

It's unreal to think that between 96 to 2002 that the Flsmes didn't ice the worst team in the league with those rosters...I guess expansion teams got in the way there

People were actually laughing at how bad he looked and played, it was like they pulled a non athletic guy out of the stands and gave him a go. He made a few random saves from the puck hitting him and not having a clue where it was. Pretty sure it was his last NHL game.

Good catch. He was a first round draft pick by Calgary, but his cup of coffee in the NHL actually came with the Stars, not the Flames...
