Alright, lets get this baby rolling as well!
Meet the Castaways
Bianca Roses
Bianca Roses made one thing clear to me in our conversation: She is not here to sit on her ass. The 33-year-old has been working in PR for over a decade, recently going independent with her own company.
Cedrek McFadden
When
Cedrek McFadden was going through the rigors of medical school,
Survivor was his therapy. In the time since, he's become a colorectal surgeon, as well as a TV medical consultant for men's health issues.
Charity Nelms
It's charitable to say
Charity Nelms has the most varied résumé out of anyone on
Survivor 48. Ten years ago, the 34-year-old was in ministry school, struggling with insecurity and an eating disorder.
Chrissy Sarnowsky
When
Chrissy Sarnowsky saw a gnarly motorcycle accident, she knew she wanted to become a paramedic and firefighter. So it's only natural that, as we speak, she's ready to eagerly throw herself into the "dangerous fun" of the new era.
David Kinne
David Kinne is different from the vast majority of players we've encountered in the new era so far. The stunt performer's physicality is something he's not afraid to quite literally flex, earning many preseason nicknames among his competitors.
Eva Erickson
There are many different ways millions of people have discovered
Survivor.
Eva Erickson found it as a
drinking game with her hockey teammates. Regardless of the method, after just one taste, the 24-year-old was eager to chug all she could, invigorated by the competition.
Joe Hunter
For
Joe Hunter, family is quite literally the DNA of his
Survivor experience. He applied for the show as a tribute to his late
sister, carrying out her long-held dream. He credits becoming a dad for teaching him how to identify and accommodate his own weaknesses.
Justin Pioppi
Justin Pioppi proves that plenty lies underneath the crust. Though he presents as a talkative, long-haired manager of a pizzeria, the 29-year-old has a background that includes a degree from Yale and making history as the youngest legislative aide hired at the Massachusetts State House.
Kamilla Karthigesu
Kamilla Karthigesu's life has been full of, as she puts it, "continuously failing." Her two biggest dreams have been to become a game developer and play
Survivor, but she has been consistently denied those opportunities. But the 31-year-old Canadian has succeeded-at least partially out of spite, wanting to prove others' follies in underestimating her.
Kevin Leung
If you could use two words to describe
Kevin Leung's brain, it would be "calculated chaos." The finance manager has a nose for numbers, already coming in with a plan to go to Tribal Council in the premerge and wait to make his big moves until specific points in the endgame.
Kyle Fraser
Before becoming an attorney,
Kyle Fraser was a teacher. His two years in the classroom took him from an affluent boarding school to a juvenile detention center, causing him to adapt to kids from all walks of life.
Mary Zheng
As the child of political asylees,
Mary Zheng was raised believing it's good to eat last. And so she's spent her life filling her plate with giving back, whether it was volunteering with the Peace Corps or her current work in substance abuse counseling.
Mitch Guerra
Mitch Guerra admits growing up with a speech impediment had him learning about resiliency and empathy the tough way. But, days before the game, the 34-year-old speaks to me with full
confidence, knowing this is his moment to make his mark.
Saiounia "Sai" Hughley
If there were two words
Saiounia “Sai” Hughley would use to describe herself, it would be "surprising" and "resilient." After all, this is a woman who got hit by a bus, got up, and nearly walked away. But now she's ready to pull off her own blindside hit-and-runs on the beach.
Shauhin Davari
While
Shauhin Davari didn't ultimately make the final cast of
Survivor 46, his presence was certainly known. Many of the castaways I talked to at the time had something to say about the enigmatic "man with the beard."
Star Toomey
Like the
vampires she adores watching,
Star Toomey absolutely sparkles as she talks to me. The 28-year-old is bouncing in her seat, brimming with excitement as she talks about playing a game she fell in love with over a recent marathon binge.
Stephanie Berger
Stephanie Berger admits she's never been fully qualified for anything she's ever done. But the 38-year-old has always made up for a lack of qualifications with leadership skills, confidence, and a personality as boisterous as her laugh that shakes the jungle.
Thomas Krottinger
Working in A&R,
Thomas Krottinger is responsible for scouting out new artists to compose his label's
music. And he's hoping he can compose a hit blindside or two as he shoots his way up the charts on
Survivor 48.
Survivor 48 was announced as part of CBS' midseason line-up on Nov. 13, 2024. It will kick off with a two-hour premiere on
Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025.
Survivor 48 will continue to air 90-minute episodes, a permanent change for the show starting in Season 45.
