Where to stay near BC Place
Mrs. blender and I are going to the Chili Peppers at the end of March. Any good recommendations on a place to stay near BC Place? We are planning to fly into Van and want to be able to get around without a car.
Thanks, all.

Hotel Blu, Rosedale on Robson, Georgian Court and Hampton Inn. All 3 blocks or less from BC place and also 3 blocks or so from the Canada Line from YVR.

The Marriot Parq is literally right next to BC Place, it has a casino in it (which isn’t my thing but some people love them) but they do have a couple decent restaurants in it, plus you’re close to good restaurants in Gastown/Yaletown. Other than that there’s the Sandman nearby as well.
Or you could stay at the Westin Bayshore with some of the nicest views a hotel can offer.

Its a 5 min walk but I really liked the Douglas. It a Autograph Marriott and I find that is the sweet spot of the chain if you like nice but not over top expensive.

I'd say most hotels are good in the area. Hopefully the prices aren't too crazy like they were during the Elton John weekend but my preference is the various Marriott hotels, already suggested, or the Fairmont Waterfront or Pacific Rim. The Marriott hotels are obviously closer to BC Place but the Fairmont hotels are better for access to the Canada Line to the airport (if that is mode of transport.) Also the Fairmont hotels are closer to Stanley Park if that matters.

Yeah good suggestions already. Do a quick search on Google Maps and find what works for you in terms of distance. Many options!

Well...I mean...you could also just tent it curbside? It'd be cheap?

It’s stupidly expensive. I stayed there last time I was in Vancouver for work and it was like $625/night for a king bed. No way I’d stay there on my own dime.

Me and the wife always stayed at the YWCA Hotel when we had to pay for our own accommodation in Vancouver.
Non profit hotel we always got a great room and proceeds help a great cause. We stayed their almost every 2 weeks in van for 5 years when we lived in vic for the first 5 years there. Centralish and a block from Rodgers arena and bc place.
HIGHLY recommend check8ng them out.

I've stayed at the Pinnacle Hotel Harborfront twice. It's an older hotel, but reasonably priced and walkable distance to BC place, Stanley Park, Seawall, and Canada Place.

Book early. Vancouver hotels have become insanely expensive lately. Stayed out at the airport once for almost $400 because everything downtown was $600+

Lots of good suggestions here.
Vancouver downtown isn't actually that large, so even the stuff closer to Burrard or Coal Harbour is walkable to BC place within about 15 min.
Just avoid downtown Eastside and Westend downtown us probably going too far for walking.
If you find the hotels are too expensive and want an airbnb, we have a suite 12-15 min uber to BC Place.

If you're staying a couple of nights, Stay Vancouver Hotels (Vancouver's hotel association) has a gift card promo currently running. You can get up to $250 in Mastercard gift cards back when you book through them. They are reputable; I've used them a few times in the last couple of years.
However, even with the gift card it's not always the cheapest, so make sure you compare the prices with Expedia, Booking.com etc.

We’ve stayed at the Hilton on Robson next to the library three times. Just a few blocks to BC Place, the Skytrain and close to tons of things. That’s a great hotel and I’m always surprised it’s cheaper than way worse places.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites last year, literally right across the street from BC Place. Expensive, but the location was great

I second Parq by Marroitt, it's walking distance to BC place, Yaletown, Robson, has a Casino and some fancy restaurants (The Victor). A lot of other restaurants, and bars within the area too.

BC Place is connected to the Stadium/Chinatown Skytrain station. So you can stay absolutely anywhere that's close to any other station on that line and be "walking distance" from BC Place. Personally I'd stay outside of downtown altogether and save the money, but that's me.

I dont have a hotel suggestion, but the Vancouver tourism people have a promotion where you get a Mastercard gift card (so basically cash) back on hotel bookings. Obviously check but pricing I've seen has been comparable to other places plus you get up to $250 back.

Anything downtown is walkable to BC place. Stick to the main drags walking and you'll be fine.
Big fan of anything Fairmont or Pacific Rim. But stayed at the Sheraton Wall Centre and had a two king bedroom suite for $500 a night. Loved that hotel room.
Really can't go wrong with anything mentioned in this thread. Book early and the keep an eye out for deals. Prices keep going up.
