Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Jets always play the Flames tough, but they're usually winnable enjoyable games. Looking forward to this!

Benchmark game to see how far we’ve come. The Jets aren’t San Jose or Anaheim. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Coleman should get some time on line 1 or 2. Get the feeling he could really rock and roll if given more opportunity offensively!

This is the beginning of the toughest part of the season. Games ~40 to ~60 always feel like a slog.

Is Ehlers coming back this season from the sports hernia surgery?

His time line keeps getting pushed back. To me, Ehlers and Connor are what stirs the drink for the Jets. Ya Wheelers having a good year and Scheifele is having a good year too, but those 2 are the most skilled on our team.
Circling back to Ehlers, you keep reading how close he is, but, this was supposed to be resolved by November. He could be back in a few days or another month, this seems to be a moving target.

was able to watch the morning skate - really impressed with Dube's intensity - fun watching him work on one timers from the faceoff dot - really hammering the puck

Win today and Friday and the team is back at real .500.
Let's do this.

I have no issues with people perceiving records in different ways, but amazing how controversial this is whenever it's brought up.
Stages I guess ...
1. If you look at it old school every tie is a point, and what happens after is irrelevant
2. You could eliminate shootout results and call them ties and build a record that way.
3. Do it like DoubleK above and you need to out win your extra time losses.
To me it's all points % and points / GP for .500

To me its pretty simple
When a team starts the season, there are 164 points available to them...no more and no less. And since that is the first criteria the league uses to advance to the playoffs, then thats the one you base the argument off of.
To date, the Flames have played for 76 points.
.500 would be 38 pts.
They have 43 pts.
Therefore they are above .500.

It would a lot more simple if the league moved to W-L records and not a point system. If you are going to play until you a winner, why not recognize it as such.
