Disappointing that this isn't on January 1. I sat down in front of the TV yesterday at noon ready to watch some hockey and was mighty disappointed.

When New Year's Day falls on a Sunday, the Winter Classic is played on Jan. 2 instead to avoid the NFL. This happened in 2012 and 2017.

Always fun to see world class, professional athletes that have no idea how to throw a ball:

Funny how the NHL always uses the Canucks Al Murdoch for their PA announcer.

You could tell Bobby was trying to figure out how the hell to do it without it being a complete embarrassment.

Nhl must be praying Bédard doesn’t go to a Canadian market.

I think we all are praying he doesn't go to a Canadian or the Pacific unless it's us.

The right thing to do would be to announce his intentions of only playing for Calgary.

Which is dumb, this is your marquee event. It's just week 17 in the NFL. What's next? CFL going to move the Grey Cup away from Sundays?

Are all intermission like this? I didn't know you could talk about the game that's going on. I thought it was Elliote Freeman lobbying the league to change the rules for McDavid and McDavid highlight packages.

Go against the NFL on ANY day and you are getting creamed...it would be a stupid decision.

They lose nothing by waiting a day and lose a ton by playing yesterday,
