Calgary at Seattle

Seattle's previous three opponents at home had played in Vancouver the previous night. The Kraken are 2-1-0 at home during that stretch, losing 4-2 to Montreal and then defeating Winnipeg 3-2 and St. Louis 5-2.

The Kraken have been idle since a 6-5 shootout loss last Thursday at Vancouver. The Canucks got the tying goal from Elias Pettersson with 1:20 remaining in regulation with their goalie pulled for an extra attacker. Pettersson had two goals, three assists and scored the winner in the shootout.

Kraken host the Flames following Sprong’s 2-goal game

BOTTOM LINE: The Seattle Kraken host the Calgary Flames after Daniel Sprong’s two-goal game against the Vancouver Canucks in the Kraken’s 6-5 shootout loss.

Seattle has a 7-2-2 record in Pacific Division games and an 18-10-4 record overall. The Kraken have conceded 103 goals while scoring 113 for a +10 scoring differential.

Calgary has a 16-12-7 record overall and a 6-3-2 record in Pacific Division play. The Flames have a 6-6-5 record in games they serve more penalty minutes than their opponents.

3 Game Essentials | Flames (16-13-7) at Kraken (18-10-4)

For starters, the Kraken own the fourth-best winning percentage in the Western Conference, tied with defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado at .625 or earning 62.5 percent of possible standings points in games played. Among the top five winning percentage leaders in the West, only Colorado and Seattle have played 32 games. The other three have played more games: Vegas with 36, Dallas with 35, and Winnipeg at 33. Opportunity knocks for the Kraken.#

Should be a good benchmark game for the Flames.

Really huge game, just like last night was. So probably we'll lose again and start to lose our ground. Again

This was the game I felt was more important, even though I hate the Oil. This team shouldn't be where they are, they have alot of games in hand, to bring Kraken down to earth, this is sucj an important to win, gotta catch up with points. I think the boys will be angry and win 3-2.

The Kraken haven't played that well of late and I thought the Flames looked good last night. Played faster than I've seen them play all year. Bring that tonight, Vladar does his thing, they'll be OK.

Play remotely close to the way they played last night and the wins will come. I believe.

As good as we played last night in getting chances and volume I think our defensive work on Mcdavis and 29 was fantastic 5v5. They looked dangerous only on the PP surprise surprise.

Keep up the clean work in our end like that less chasing and keep sticks on the ice to finish empty net chances and get inside the slot shots will bounce on to sticks and we should score.

Seattle will play a patient game and try to clog it up just stick with it.

Hanifin and Weegar look like two guys who are about explode offensively.

They travelled last night. Just hope they don't have to crawl to the rink.

Flames shouldn’t be that fatigued, if they play like they played lastnight they’ll get their goals and the travel is a quick flight to Seattle. Non issues. Flames win 5-3.

I hope we see this line up tonight:

Dube/Ruzicka - Lindy - Toff
Hub - Kadri - Dube/Ruzicka (Can switch wings with Hub)
Mang - Back - Coleman
Lucic - Zohorna - Lewis

Ruzicka can get his shot off super quickly and can shoot from many different stances, I think Huberdeau could utilize it. Nothing against Ritchie but I think the other 3 guys have been better than him lately

I’d put zohorna in and sit mangiapane for a game. Move Lucic down and Ruzicka up.

Grubauer starting for the Kraken tonight. He's been awful. Start the same lineup from yesterday. They'll get their goals.

Keep building on recent play and the wins will come in bunches. Transition, possession and high defensive pressure have all been much better lately with yesterday being basically a master class in these areas. These are the Sutter hallmarks.

It tells me that they have gotten through the learning phase and are entering a flow phase in their game. Awesome to see.

Offensive confidence and finish will be the story of the second half. If these guys remember that there actually is top tier offensive talent on this team, they will be very tough to beat.
