Two handed too. Just a real dirty play.

I was surprised he only got the minor penalty at the time. You knew the league would have to look at it. Probably just a fine but I could see him get a game as well.

Insane that he got 2 minutes for that - brutal failure by the ref there

Feel like Lindholm got lucky on that one. Could have been a lot worse.

Any replays? Can't find it on YouTube and didn't get to watch a lot of the game.

For once, I actually care about the outcome of one of these, since Hertl being unavailable for the next game would directly help the Flames.

...and someone two-handed-slashing Lindholm in the face should be punished?

The blood rule is stupid. Accidental blood-drawing scratch off a stick riding high: 4 minutes. Intentional two-handed slash to the face: 2 minutes.

You can replace "Lindholm" with "anybody". It doesn't have to be a player on your own team that needs to be punished.

However, I'm fairly apathetic to who gets punished or not and for why they do or did not. The wheel of justice has shown to me that its a waste of energy to hope for suspensions that may or may not happen and/or may or may not be appropriate in length.

That's a fair point.

Well according to Shark fans it's better for the Flames if he plays..

Plus the Flames never seem to bleed.

The punishment should be beneficial to the team that was wronged. The player should have to serve their suspension against that team.

Imagine there's 3 games left and the Flames need some team like Los Angeles to lose. They have to play San Jose. I would want Hertl playing. It would doubly hurt the Flames to have Lindholm hurt and Hertl not playing.

Fortunately, because of the schedule, it might work out this time.
