I guess they were waiting to see if Rooney cleared before the callup. Is Ritchie injured btw?
Zohorna had really impressive NHL numbers last year with the Penguins, we might have a legit 4C here.

They didn't have roster space to recall Zohorna before Rooney cleared/went down

I figured it was only a matter of time until he was given a chance. When the Flames claimed him, Treliving said he was on their radar for a while. I think they just really wanted him to learn the team structure before throwing him in.

Zohorna was on the trip, so it was a foregone conclusion.

Two Big Z’s on the team now. Hope that doesn’t cause any locker room beef

I was going to write how funny it is to see a team call up both their smallest and their biggest guy from the farm team back to back, then I remembered that we even have a bigger Czech behemoth on the Wranglers than Zohorna lol.

I’d imagine Looch sits before Lewis if Zohorna gets a shot? Or more likely it’s just in case of injuries… would like to see a zohorna-Lewis-Phillips line though!

Treliving: Darryl, we're calling two guys up from the Wranglers. Their average size is 6'1, 180.
Sutter: Fine.

Has Zohorna been playing C in the AHL? Good face-off #'s? Our 4th line has been awful at faceoffs.
