Default Zack Werenski out for the season

Bleak season for BJ's gets worse.

Quote:
An already challenging season was further amplified Friday when the Columbus Blue Jackets announced star defenseman Zach Werenski is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a separated shoulder and torn labrum.

Werenski played Thursday in the Blue Jackets' 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. It was only the Blue Jackets' fourth win of the season, but it was a result that snapped a five-game losing streak. Werenski sustained was then classified as an upper-body injury in the first period and did not return.

I think this season will work out well in the end as they could get Bedard or at worst a very good player. If they can get a top player or two out of this draft they will be looking good as Johnny will be a great player to help bridge the young talent and his contract is a bargain.

All they have to do is finish in the bottom 4 and I think they get a potential front line, franchise altering player: Bedard, Michkov, Fantilli, and now the emerging Leo Carlsson (who I will predict is a Jacket).

Michkov is the tricky one due to his KHL contract and risk over when he actually comes over.

But it is a fantastic draft to have a piss poor year.

Imagine if we actually had such a piss poor year that we got Bedard (or any of them, really) and added that infusion of young elite talent to this veteran group?
