Flames Practice notes Oct 27

Last practice before Saturday's Edmonton game (Friday is a scheduled day off).

Looks like Sutter is preparing the team for a tough battle.

Best start in franchise history and Darryl still intensely practices the little things.

Thats why we will win the Cup this year

I'm guessing Darryl is treating this practice as a game day.

Team generally plays a game every other day, today is the "missing game" per se.

So a hard practice today instead.

This makes sense. It’s a decent break between the Pens game and Oilers game. The oilers would have played 2 games during that stretch.

I am in love with this team! I haven't had as much investment and fun since the "find a way flames" under Hartley.

I had the feeling on the Buffalo GameDay from interviews with the players and the coach that things were oddly light. It caused me a little bit of concern heading into that gane. It's good to see that this is not the norm moving forward.

Really liking the vibe this team has this year. Pretty different even from last year.

Also how dumb is this schedule? 2 games in 9 days?

Loving the vibe around this team. All about the group not about any one player and such a focus and confidence they appear to be carrying. Not something we have seen since the spring of 04 in my opinion

What number do you even give the Wiz? 00?

yeah i keep looking for the "usual" kinks in the armour with the team and it doesn't happen, they just come back with a better performance. they bend but don't break. the culture .. the group .. everybody here is on a mission

this iteration of the team feels like what treliving and conroy were envisioning when they began drafting with character front of mind several years ago

None of that is happening if the leadership group doesn't stress it as important, and is out there leading by example.

Starting to think things like this were an issue with previous teams, and even Darryl couldn't QUITE get that commitment out of them. Now with this group he has a core group that does it on their own.

Obviously they've tuned Sutter out and stay out on the ice after practice to spite him.

WE HAVE F ING centers FINALLY!!! Hallelujah !!! ALL over 50% and as high as 63.6%

Yeah, 00 works for me, as that is exactly how much sleep, in hours, that Treliving seems to need.
