Yes - I know, but this deserves it own thread on Fire On Ice.
Scorch is apparently the surviving flame from the Great Fire of 1864 in Glens Falls.

I think both the mascot and the team name is offensive to the memory of the victims of all of the "Great Fires" of the 19th Century.
