Not a bad team to jump on while still getting a 1 mill raise year over year.

That’s a good signing by the Avs. I’m guessing the Flames are just gonna run with what we have now and then by the deadline Brad’s gonna access where we are and will likely make a move to improve the top 6

I never bought into the Rodrigues thing because I see the Flames still adding via trade, not FA. So I don't think they are done.

Would have really liked him here- versatile player that would have solidified our forward depth. Sucks to be the runner up, but oh well!

Decent price to say the least. Appropriate price for him really. No interest in Milano whatsoever. Everyone likes flavour of the month names. Milano has nothing to offer.

Why? I mean if they couldn't make the contract fit, fine, that's a reason not to do it, but I don't see why any team that has the space wouldn't want the guy on a 1 yr 2 mil hit just to see if last year is repeatable.

For me, the cap space is exactly the reason I didn’t want to sign anyone else, not just Evan specifically. $1-2 million in cap space at the start of the season Is going to become $3-6million player at the deadline, which to me will be much more valuable than signing a 1-2 million player now for the whole season.
This team is good enough to challenge for the division as it stands right now. I’d rather use a larger amount of space at the deadline than fill the role now personally.

Flames could have fit in $2M - my guess is Rodrigues thinks that Colorado gives him the best shot at another productive season to try to cash in next year.
