Default Treliving Empowering Players

I have found this interesting all summer. At least since the Gaudreau/Tkachuk PR disaster.

The Flames have done a good job of making players old and new feel important and empowered. Treliving calls up Markstrom before the Huberdeau trade. Both Huberdeau and Kadri give glowing reviews on the team making them feel special. It's more than the money.

Is this the way to make a group come together the way it needs to for a special Cup run?

I'd say Treliving has gotten very good at this but i think from Tre down this organization has done well at making players feel their feels legitimately.

It's nice though when your roster is committed to helping be the welcome wagon of sorts and we also have some awesome alumni which help in this process of attracting players .

Flames are gonna kick some ass this year because everyone is pulling in the same direction and that's awesome because it wasn't always like this especially during the young guns , dark Era of the team....man I don't miss those days .

The exodus of Gaudreau/Tkachuk is probably something a lot of players will use as a chip on the shoulder. Prove they chose wrong. The winning is happening here.

A good type of mentality to have for a group. I am very curious about this year's locker-room dynamics.

A 111 point team without really too many legit reasons last season to embrace an "us against the world" mentality is going into this one with two top players coming from Florida where they feel a bit unwanted and the remaining roster feeling a bit of the cold shoulder from Johnny and Tkachuk is plenty for Sutter to work with. Maybe this offseason ends up making an already tight group by all accounts even closer.

Treliving is a large part of it and I agree with others; it's an organization-wide philosophy. It sounds more and more like the Flames run a top-tier franchise with respect to the rest of the NHL. The league is a small world in that players, agents, other personnel talk a lot and word travels - both good and bad. It's a large reason why we poached two of Vancouver's best players and have attracted more and more top-end free agent talent. Players know the culture of the organization is positive and they & their families are treated top-notch.
