Default Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2022 - Round 2

Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!

As per usual ...

1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

This should be a close round, but I think Pelletier will edge our Coronato

Pelletier for me again.
Coronato tomorrow. (If Pelletier wins)

This may be the first time I've voted the same guy in each of the first three rounds!

Pelletier once again. Would be curious to see how much/if at all Zary has fallen, and where Phillips slots in.

Top 3 - 4 is pretty much in stone, but from there on its RORY KERINS! or bust.

Pelletier... easy answer this time (and next time... could probably just slot Coronato in there now). Then it gets debatable again.

I have Kerins neck and neck with Coronato personally. He had a more impressive season overall last year. Coronato still has the pedigree advantage but Kerins is looking like a steal.

For the naysayers regarding the prospect depth, there will be some pretty good players getting discussed in the 8-10 range. Just the defensemen with Valimaki, Mackey, Poirier and Kuznetsov have a chance to make it.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

It's tough... I feel like Pelletier, Coronato, Zary, Ruzicka, Phillips, Valimaki, Mackey, Kerins, Poirier, and Kuznetsov make up the next 10...but the order is where it's tricky.

I went with Pelletier - the guy seems to step up to the level of competition. He was better against good competition in junior, stepped up when needed at the WJC, and stepped up his play to next level in the AHL.

I went with JP after selecting Coronato in round 1. He's much further along in his development and I think has a legit shot to make the club out of camp. I still think Coronato has a higher ceiling, but he's likely 2 years away in a best case.

What are people's opinions on Valimaki? He's really fallen off my radar when thinking about defensive prospects.

At this point I presume we'll see him turn into a decent player on another team.

Pelletier. The fallout from this offseason will haunt the Flames for a decade or so, and I don't see Coronato ever playing in Calgary.

Pelletier for me this time. Highly likely to make the team this coming season or next and will probably start on the 3rd/4th line and if he happens to be lucky, get some looks on the 2nd/3rd. Excited to see him play!

A lot of players fall off when they turn pro which has Coronato further down the list than Pelletier who has already taken that step successfully.
