That does back up Murray a bit but the caps didn’t qualify him because they felt he hadn’t lived up to those numbers. Interesting team to watch, how they perform will dictate Dubas staying or going IMO. He’s gotta get past the first round or he’s gone.

Rumour is they're after Kuemper. This would be a good number for a backup, but Samsonov probably expects more starts in TOR.

It boggles the mind. Murray is a long way from his days of being a top goalie, and Samsonov is maybe a 1B at best. I think Vladar is better than either of them to be honest.

The Leafs astonish me.

There are ostensibly 32 starting jobs available. Not one of them comes with more attention than the starting goalie of the Leafs.

Whoever that guy is, he can’t be just a guy.

He needs to be a Guy. He needs to be a national team level goaltender, who has carried dog#### rosters to some kind of success.

He needs to be worth the attention, because if he isn’t, he’ll know, and so will the fans. And he’ll wilt. And they all do.

Curtis Joseph took them to two ECFs and made it out of round 1 four out of five years in Toronto, because he’s Curtis MFing Joseph. He was able to handle that market because he was worthy of the spotlight.

The Leafs should be moving heaven and earth to acquire Connor Hellebuyck. He’s exactly what they need.

Not Ilya Samsonov and Matt Murray.

Yuck.
