Poehling is interesting, the former 1st rounder had a hattrick in his first NHL game but has since fell off the cliff, a broken wrist didn't help matters much.

The Penguins continue to deny their window is closed and they should be selling off and rebuilding. I get it though with Crosby in the twilight of his career.

Is Matheson a good prospect?? It seems like the Habs are giving up a lot and don’t really need any cap relief…what is their motivation for this trade?

Poeling is a huge MAGA guy and known to have a poor attitude. I don’t expect him to stay long in the league

He's not a prospect at all. He's played over 400 NHL games. Was very divisive in Florida, but from what I've heard has played well in Pittsburgh.

Matheson is 29 years old and not a prospect. He was awarded a massive 8 year deal for just under 5M at the time in Florida by Dale Tallon that was universally criticized in the hockey world and he never ended up getting more than 30 points until last season when he had a decent year. From what I can see, Pens fans liked the player last season.
