Wow that's a shocker. I don't understand how the Islanders are going to be better with another coach. That's a team that overachieved because of Trotz. This is fantastic news for teams that are looking to hire a new head coach.

Damn, I love Trotz. Best NHL coach (along with Sutter) in my opinion.
Some team will see a big jump next year.

I'm guessing he goes to Philly.

Back to back ECF's only to lose to the eventual SC winners, then a season where your team starts with a 13 game road trip and suffers injuries all year and you miss....get fired.

He was born in Winnipeg but Dauphin is his hometown and where he spent his day with the Cup. He probably wouldn't mind only being a few hours from home though.

Apparently he's also looking to get into management. Wonder if the Jets can offer him that too.
