He's owed $6M over the next 4 seasons, with a cap hit of about $31M over those 4 seasons.
For anyone who wants to simply hit the cap floor, that's the Holy Grail of contracts.
And if it's a team that will be over the cap floor but knows it will have cap space, I expect they'll get something good for it.

Arizona or Buffalo for cap floor?
Vegas, Tampa abusing LTIR room?
Edit: Of course VGK further abused LTIR and also unloading a useful player and his hefty contract.

Too bad he's injury prone. I can see Sutter's mouth totally watering like a waterfall thinking about it.

Am I missing something or is that a steal for Montreal?

Dadonov finally gets moved after the fiasco at the trade deadline last year. Good piece of business by the Habs

Great deal for Vegas.

Wonder if Vegas is double checking that Dadonov didn't add Montreal to his no trade clause via cocktail napkin at an Applebees.

Would imagine Montreal probably flips Dadonov with retention.

Is Shea Weber LTIR'd? I thought he was traditionally retired

How does this work? Weber counts against the cap until the season starts, right? Bettman said there are no issues with this stuff.

He is LTIR'd. There are significant cap recapture penalties if he were to retire officially.
He also continues to get paid so there is no incentive for him to officially retire. The only thing he has to do is a medical checkup once in a while to confirm he can't play.

Vegas has to manage the cap room until the start of the season, and then they can go over it once the season begins.

Vegas probably wants the space for re-signing someone like R. Smith.

Vegas are experts at this
seriously though Dadonov was one of their best players down the stretch
