Queen of England is buried and a bunch of hockey players retire the next day? Coincidence? I think not!

Zdeno Chara retires and Adam Klapka begins his NHL journey. Coincidence?

Had an amazing career. I remember first seeing him when he was an Islander wondering if he brought much more than just sheer size and physicality. 23/24 years later I would say he brought a lot more.

I'll always remember Chara for
a) nearly dropping the Stanley Cup in an awkward looking celebration
b) being investigated by Montreal police for the attempted murder of Max Pacioretty

Felt like I grew-up with Chara, started following his career after reading an article during his year with the Prince George Cougars - plus living in Northern BC at the time. One of my favorite players...even though he never wore Flames silks.

One of the most satisfying moments as a hockey fan was watching the Bruins stop that Nucks team from winning the cup. Great player, great career. Enjoy the HOF

I remember him just pummeling a guy and stopping his fist mid punch like “ok, you’ve had enough”.

One of the toughest of all time.

A great all around defenseman with obvious leadership qualities. What a great career.

In the conversation for best Slovak NHLer of all time. Up there with Stasny, Hossa, Gaborik etc.

Lucic, Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci and even Tim Thomas should get a free pass from all hockey fans for saving hockey!

Chara is one of the best d of all time and the best fighter of all time!

Watching Kane eat it was great!

I’ll never forget his fight against Bryan McCabe

First time I’ve seen a ragdolling be such an apt description of what happened

Also, the roar that came out of him when he hoisted the Cup. It was not the sound a normal sized human could make
