Hanifin and Rasmus underwater, interesting.

Stone & Kylington with such a massive game, more than made up for it.

Stone and Lewis were HUGE factors in this series considering their role on this team.

Looked gassed.

Millen said it near end of second about the Rasmus Noah paring, that they are used to Sutter playing them 21 minutes a night, and any more than that they could start to falter. Sure enough…Gud and Zadorov, what more can you say. Sure Zadorov had a bad giveaway in neutral zone but those guys are outplaying their contracts still. Confident with them back there.

Extra day rest will help all of the D, hopefully Tanev too.

Flames dominated the entire series. If you had to choose how to lose a hockey game, it would be to a hot goalie after you create a lot of scoring chances and shots. All smiles here.

My son said he saw Oettinger was +16 saves vs expected for the series. That is absolutely insane!

That was a great line, Bingo: "A blowout disguised as a nail-biter"

He was ridiculous. It got to the point where I was just waiting for the Stars to score the winning goal as it seemed no matter what the Flames did, he was going to stop the puck. That's one of the best goaltending performance I have ever seen. Seen nothing better since Hasek or maybe Kipper in 2004.

Good write up as usual. Oh, it’s “off the schneid” though.

Good write up.

Have I mentioned how much I dislike Hanafin & his breakout "stop and look for a pass back" move that he uses ON.EVERY.SINGLE.RUSH

It was comedic, Im shocked Sutter didn't get him to stop doing it given it was so predictable for the defenders.

Great write up. I did not think the Flames would win that one. You almost forget how good the payoff moments feel after you accumulate so many heart breaks as a fan. That’s what it’s all about.

A bunch of moments that could have gone the other way early in OT. That powerplay settled things down, let the boys exhale a bit, and turned the momentum in our favour.

What a game.

Andersson had a tough series. Really not himself. Not confident, looked hesitant. Maybe the suspension messed with his head. Clean slate, Raz, go get 'em.

The following numbers are astounding.

The Flames had 564 shot attempts in the seven games series. The Penguins had 525 with 35 more minutes of overtime hockey.

Calgary had 283 shots on goal, 252 scoring chances, and 104 high danger chances.

They were in last place for shooting percentage with just 5.3%, meaning of course that Oettinger finished the series with a .947 save percentage.
Wow. Just, wow.

Thank goodness they didn't fall short because of a once in a life time goalie performance.

Nerves. Both him and Hanifin.

The best thing about that game (other than the obvious ... they won) is the fact that showed up so strong and ready.

No mental fragility that has really hurt this franchise for decades.

They put their best game on the ice, and almost lost to an amazing goaltender.

Through the series I thought there were times where the Dallas clogging had the Flames off their game, but you didn't really question their work ethic (games 2, and 5).

The last half of game six and ten minutes in game three were the only periods where Dallas was the better team.

Taking out the assumption of a nervous team not playing to their potential against Edmonton is something I love.

They'll show.

Count on it.

I'd add that coming back twice during the game was a big deal too. And the way they got better as OT progressed.

The Oilers series is a bit of a tossup but Flames aren't likely to beat themselves. For this team winning round 1 was a big obstacle.

I was worried that the game would be like the game 7 against the Ducks in 2006 where they just had nothing in that last game, getting shut out 3-0. This team left it all on the ice and rather than get deflated that they were getting goalied they just kept coming at them.
