Default Stars 4 Flames 2 (Dallas leads series 2-1)

Stars 4 Flames 2 (Dallas leads series 2-1)

- Joe Pavelski with game tying and winning goals
- Jake Oettinger excellent for the Stars
- Flames get their offence rolling but can't finish enough to win
- Monday a pretty important game!

Flames have 9 expected goals so far in the playoffs and have scored 3.

No other team in the playoffs is worse.

It was Elliott with the softies, then it was the Avs adding a generational d-man in game 2, and now it’s just Oettinger being a wall.

The overreactions are basically justified at this point.

Win the next one and I think they still take it.

Johnny’s playoff armour has yet to make a difference in how he plays. Lol

A franchise that always finds a way to lose. Prove me wrong Flames.

Joe Pavelski is a Flames killer. Wish he was on our team as he knows how to find those scoring areas.

Theres 1 Reason I voted Nashville in who Id rather play. Joe Pavelski.

Even if Saros was healthy I still vote for the Preds.

You solve the young Dallas goaltender by creating traffic in front of the net. The Flames are making him look good for the most part with countless shots he can see

The second reason for me would be Rick Bowness. He has the Stars well prepared to play the Flames. Shutting down the neutral zone to cut off the Flames break out patterns. Also having players get under the skin of Chucky

They will lose this series, game is played how stars are wanting it to be played. They got good goalie and flames is afraid to lose. There is no speed and compact 5 man unit working together.
In the off season Gadreau will be gone and Flames is playing for top-5 pick with Yotes and Hawks.

PGT takes are horrible and toxic. Blaming Markstrom. Already giving up on the series. Rebuild the whole team, throwing away 82 games of pure domination because of 3 games against a hot goalie. Hopefully this thread is a safer place to read reasonable takes.

Hot goalie?!?

My dude, they have again reverted to gulutzan hockey despite most of this team not even playing under him. Refuse to get to high danger areas, refuse to pay the price to get to dirty areas and taking bad perimeter shots. Stars seem to realize its may. The flames think this is november

Pathetic effort

If there is anything we now know, it is that it is not Gulutzan hockey. It is Flames hockey.

Up 2-1, I thought the Flames were going to put these guys away. I started to feel like we were watching regular season Flames.

But Stars fought back and Flames just seemed to let up. That was most disappointing part of the game for me.

That and Tkachuk being unable to make any helpful contributions.

Going to be a long couple of days.

Does it make a difference? They're like the points on "Whose Line Is It Anyways". They're all made up and they don't really matter.

I try not to get overly upset as the Flames did a lot of the right things last night but they are getting absolutely zero puck luck. No rebounds landing on Flames sicks, all the deflections either missing the net or hitting the goaltender. Just not getting any breaks meanwhile the Stars are getting deflection goals off multiple players and rebounds right on goal scorers sticks. It's like the hockey gods simply don't smile on this franchise as they aren't playing bad but they just can't catch a break while the opposition is getting all of the breaks. Very frustrating but also very Flames.

Really disappointed in Tkachuk. Absolutely invisible in this game. One would think a player like him would thrive in the playoffs but it's the exact opposite. Maybe he's just too slow for playoff hockey. I don't know. Also Toffoli has been a major bust.

Everyone has to be better Monday or I am afraid this series is over.

I have found Toffoli and Coleman disappointing in the series. I think the D and Markstrom are fine. Middle six need to get going and take some pressure off of the top line. Tkachuk needs to get grounded and focused on hockey, Klingberg isn't worthy of the attention Chuky is giving him.

If anyone can get these guys focused on the task at hand it is Sutter.

So you're basically saying he is out coaching Darryl!
