icon53 Flames fans in Comox Valley

Could be a long shot, and hopefully okay to post here.

Are there any other Flames fans in the Comox Valley area that are around and go to a spot in the area to watch the games?

Just moved here from Calgary and not the same watching the game at home by yourself.

Go Flames Go!

Hey, I've lived in Courtenay for the last 5 years. When I first moved out here I tried to watch a few Flames games at the pubs in town but I was never able to find a good (or even ok) place to watch. There really isn't a sports bar that I know of.

If there are a few more people here maybe we could organize something for the later rounds!

Glad to know that there are other fans in the area!

Fingers crossed we find a couple more and can meet up if we continue to roll.
Cheers

My schedule is a bit hectic right now but I might be down for a meet-up in the later rounds as well.

It's been a few years since I've been there but Match Eatery & Public House (at the Casino) might show the games.

We have friends and family in Courtenay. Use to watch at the Westerly but I think the pub has closed. High Tide is where we go now, but they only have a few TV's but they have Pacific Poker and Keno.

Back a number of years ago 2009ish, we were watching the Flames and Canucks at the Westerly. Canucks were up big going into the third (up by four if I recall). I had my Phaneuf sweater on. To say the least I was getting it pretty good. So I stood up just before the puck drop in the third, and announced that the Flames have never lost when I was wearing my Phaneuf sweater, so the Flames were going to win. Sure enough they did I think it was 6-5. At this point I had, had a few pops, the boys pulled out a come from behind victory, and the local Canuck fans look like McDavid on Mondays post game interview. It seem like a good idea to remind the bar that I was right in my prediction, and the Canucks sucked. Then I confidently announced, "I can't wait for Alberta to buy BC and renamed it Alberta two". My wife said it was time to go.

Love that there is lots around! I would love to meet up for a game in the later rounds (obviously knock on wood).

Thanks for your suggestions as well. Terrible timing to be leaving the Red Mile for playoffs. Lol.

Somewhat similar vein, I’m in Vancouver visiting my brother and had the displeasure of popping in to an “oilers” bar to see them score a bunch of goals tonight. Anyone know of a solid flames bar to hit up for tomorrow’s game?

That would be a terrific opportunity to drive Highway 19 again to the glorious Comox Valley. I have not done that in a while due to the pandemic. The Whistle Stop Pub would be an option.
