Flames Congratulations on a Fantastic Regular Season

50 wins, 111 points. Pacific Division Champions.

The whole team performed way over expectation. Career years for our superstars. Big jumps from the defensemen. All of the new signings overachieved and made a role for themselves.

The Saddledome is packed again. There's excitement around the whole city. Let's take a moment to appreciate how amazing this regular season has been.

The important thing to recognize here as well is what the expectations were coming into the year. No one saw this coming. I hope it carries into the playoffs where we may finally have some success. Amazing season, what a wonderful ride it's been.

And with the physical and mental effects of Covid on the players and their families.

Wonderful achievement. Very proud.

More work to do. Go get it guys.

Awesome season. Extremely enjoyable and entertaining hockey to watch which we sometimes forget to appreciate in itself.

The team played well from start to finish. Tons of guys had fantastic years. And most of all, the team is extremely likeable. And they really seem to like each other.

A lot of people were writing Andersson off last year, but he took a GIANT step forward and has emerged into a #1 defenseman. Hanifin is also starting to realize his potential. If you don't like Tanev, there is something wrong with you. And watching Kylington blossom into a legit top 4 guy with the potential to be a #1 someday, was one of the best things about the season. And then there was the Gudbranson/Zadorov pairing - one of the biggest surprises in the NHL, and maybe the thing that pushed the Flames' depth over the top. Pretty awesome year for the defense.

But the play of the top line was something for the ages. Not just historic numbers, but dominance. The best line in hockey, at least since Bergeron's line at their peak a few years ago. And one of the best in a long time. And they were as entertaining as anything we have seen in a very long time. Set plays. Passing like they have played together for a decade... just incredible.

And a shout out to the goaltending, which has been rock solid from game 1 to game 82.

But the single best thing about this season, for me, has been Darryl Sutter. The way he just keeps after it every day - knock 'em down if they get too high, praise 'em when they're down - keeping an even keel. And every day, prep them for the playoffs. But the best thing of all has been his pressers - just hilarious.

As a fan, if this year didn't do it for you, it's probably time to re-evaluate what it is you're doing here.

Yeah it was a good season, 3 40 goal scorers, Mangiapane right there as well, Dube with 18 as well. So a lot of goals. Also Markstrom’s shutouts and nearly tying Kiprusoff.

This is a good team.

Last season with Ward, I must have turned off over half the games. No energy. No strength. Nothing. With Darryl, it has been a joy to see them figure it out with his help, and succeed. Well done to everyone.
