Ruzicka, Valimaki returned to Stockton

The Flames were cheesing the emergency recall rule with Ruzicka and Valimaki.

They were sending them up and down the whole road trip.

Ruzicka had to be sent down when they could dress 12 forwards and Valimaki had to be sent down when they could dress 6 d-men. Flames would call them up next game day.

I wouldn't read too much into this, they've been doing this with them before and after every game for a while now.

They're both classified as Emergency recalls, meaning they can only play if the team doesn't have enough players to dress a full lineup, so they technically get returned to the AHL on off days, but they are seemingly allowed to stay with, travel with, and practice with the team.

Unless the Flames or Heat announce they're being returned to Stockton, I'd treat them as being with the Flames regardless of what the AHL transactions page says.

Suspect the Flames will need Ruzicka in the playoffs. He can bring some offense. The 4th line as constructed these past few games of Ritchie/Carpenter/Lucic is not much of a threat to score.
