If you're not going to make all the games, I'd look into getting a partial season ticket pack of some kind.
The popularity of the tickets will depend a lot on how well the Flames are doing. More expensive tickets are more popular, but you also have to take a much bigger haircut, in absolutely dollars, when selling unwanted tickets. If the team is playing poorly and the opponent is not a popular one, you'll struggle to give the tickets away.
Selling tickets is also a huge pain. People ghost, low-ball, and scam. You'll find it's a huge time commitment trying to get rid of even ten sets of tickets a year, without taking a major loss.
In order to not lose money, the team will have to be playing very well, which they are now. That won't be every season though.

I’d bet on Greens or Orange, great value all around, and when I’ve tried to purchase these they always get snapped up real quick.

if i was going to buy season tix, the first question i would ask myself is "how many games per season am i willing to commit to going to"
i would then need to decide if the financial gain of season ticket pricing is worth the potential loss of selling the remaining games at say a third

Don't do it if you have any thoughts that it may be profitable.
Northendzone has a pretty good formula. Selling can be a real pain, even on this site you can get mucked around by buyers.
My seats are in the Press Level. The food vouchers they come with used to be a great sale incentive, but with most sales being electronic these days (no more Kijiji) you can't even advertise them. Then there is also the stigma of the PL or 'nose bleeds'. 2nd level are certainly more attractive to most.

Like others have mentioned, green or orange are sort of the sweet spot for being able to sell. It makes the games affordable for the buyer. When we went from 5 people to 3 in our ticket pool, we opted to sell more tickets.
The other key is deciding what you want to sell. Are you keeping all of the Saturday Oilers games and selling the Tuesday Coyotes games? If so you will likely not quite cover your costs. For our group, a guy's night out is the important thing, so the team we see is secondary in most cases.

I have seats in the whites and they have been really hard to sell for even my cost let alone the “face value” of any particular game

I had season tix for years in the whites, split with some others. It was great, especially in the 2000s
When the resale value eventually became STH price, and I had to travel for work, it became a necessity and a hassle to unload tickets.
The secondary market had the same price advantage of season tix without the commitment
In my case, knowing I could drop the season tix, pick the games I wanted to go to, usually at STH cost, and not have to manage the ones I couldn’t, it was an easy decision. Even having to pay face value instead of STH cost is not that bad for games in a bit higher demand, definitely offsets the inconvenience of unloading or eating Tuesday Wild or Coyotes games
That’s just me, though.

Some good points made. In my opinion, greens followed by PL blacks (preferably first 3 rows) are the easiest to sell for close to STH price.
However, as a new season ticket holder, you are left with all the seats that existing season tickets holders didn't want. Each summer there is a STH 'relocation' event, based on years of seniority. In other words, the best seats will not be available to you for many years. It is very unlikely you would pick up easy to sell tickets as a new season ticket holder.
Your best bet is to find someone you trust to share your tickets with you. Many people share half or quarter seasons at their cost which means you don't loose money. Also, don't overlook the additional benefits of having season tickets in your decision. For example, invites to season ticket holder events, family skates at the Dome and probably the most valuable: rights to play off tickets at STH cost. In my view, this alone is worth having seasons tickets - in case they have a deep playoff run you have guaranteed seats to every playoff game at a reasonable price.
Good luck!

^^ Agreed, playoffs is the biggest benefit to being a STH; unfortunately, that has only meant 2-3 playoff games a year (if any) the past several seasons. But yes, the STH cost for playoff tickets is at a substantial discount compared to playoff face values, and even then you're not guaranteed to be able to buy at face value (in which case you have to look to the secondary market).

Not sure if any greens are available right now. As of 3 weeks ago I was told the greens were sold out, thought that could have been a classic sales tactic....
Orange was available though.
