Jacob Markstrom's recent 3-0-0 run has earned him Second Star Of The Week.
The Swede stopped 76 of the 78 shots he faced last week, posting a 0.67 GAA anda .974 save percentage. During that stretch, he posted his league-leading ninth shutout of the season as well.

Kudos to Markstrom!

Though I must say I hope we continue to see a lot of Vladar down the stretch.

A rested and healthy Markstrom for start of playoffs please. He seems to excel after proper rest.

If not for that perfect pass by the Ref, he would have cut his GAA in half and had a chance at first star.

Biggest positive of these last 6 games is that they got Markstrom to get 3 of them off, and he was really sharp every time out. Team is in a good position to manage his workload down the stretch so he can be be at his best when it really counts.

I noted this before the Edmonton game.

Resting him seems to result in a good performance out of him.

And it did.

And again after Vladar got the Caps, he came in and killed it vs the Bolts.

Can you imagine if the Oilers got this guy? we should build a statue of Brad just for that...they would be leading the division right now IMO

People forget he actually made the first save on that play. He made a great toe save that then deflected off a D’s foot right to the goal scorer who had a wide open net.

They still would find a way to tarnish and destroy a gamer like Markstrom... E=NG

More likely, Markstrom would be huddled in a corner somewhere, talking to his shoes and wondering what the hell happened to his career

What is that starter to “……one car parade”?

That’s the Oilers, in a nutshell.

Could've been 1st star had stripes not knocked the puck into the high slot on a platter for the Oilers to get a mercy goal last Monday.

And agents use the Oilers as a bargaining chip becuase they are likely always to be the high (desperate) bid in situations like that between teams, with no intention of landing there.

Markstrom and most top tier free agents in their prime have been avoiding the Oilers for the better part of two decades, no matter how big the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Ask Zachary Hyman if he could have a do over.

as bad as the Oilers are they would have a 5 or so more wins with Markstrom and the Flames would have 5+ less without him.

Do the math on those standings and thank baby jesus
