Connor McDavid's House - yuck
The guy chooses to build an ugly, sterile home in Edmonton. A listing in his area comes in at about $4 million Canadian.
I see nothing homey or warm about it....typical latest fashion trend of everything white or gray.
So, I've lived in Calgary and Vancouver and now call LA my home and fell know what I'm talking about. Nothing beats SoCal weather
Here's an example of what he could have bought in Los Angeles for about the same amount in US dollars.

Apologies ahead of time is this isn't appropriate; his house choice just bugs the heck out of me.

Maybe send him an email and let him know you personally prefer a warm mid-century modern? That will show him.

I know taste is relative, but I'll be honest, I'd much rather have McDavid's house than the one you're comparing it to in LA. I'm not a fan of 80's/90's decor at all. Plus that tile looks so ugly lol.
Would I have gone with all the dark panelling and marble in McDavid's house? No, but I like modern, airy, and bright houses, so I wouldn't have gone with some of his design choices. But again, there's nothing wrong with his house IMO. Just different people have different tastes.

I mean he lives in Edmonton. Can you blame him if he atleast wants the inside of his home to be clean/white/sterile? He has to step out everyday into Edmonton. That's the ew part.

It’s a spectacular home, with the latest trends.
If this was presented as Johnny’s home, you’d have done cartwheels.

Looks like a pretty amazing house to me, other than the basketball court weirdness.

I'll take whichever one isn't in Edmonton. That's all that really matters to me.

It's clearly the home of a young guy but it is by no means terrible and by Edmonton standards its actually nice, lets give the kid a break here, his hockey career has been destroyed by that city, he knows he will never win a cup, that's punishment enough, I feel sorry for him at this point

Not my personal aesthetic tastes, but it's a very nice home.
This thread is cringey.

Weird house to compare it to... the one you linked isn't really in the same league... the kitchen is pretty pedestrian. Lots of nicer houses out there.
I don't like the McDreary residence, but I get it for a young millionaire with very little life experience, and the personality of an under ripe avocado.
