Default Olympic Medals to have Holes

They released pics of the medals this year in Italy.. I don't like them personally.. look too gimmicky

Personally I think that looks like crap.

Leave it to the most corrupt group of individuals on earth to try and make more money by saving on some precious metals.

What a joke.

Reading your original post I'm not 100% sure if you're implying that Italians or the IOC are corrupt. Might want to clarify.

As for thinking that they're saving a few bucks on gold to line their own pockets - c'mon get real. How much are we talking about here, $100K in gold? Saving money probably had less of a factor to do with this "hole" design than fashion and style - refer to the sick plastic POS known as the "World Cup of Hockey".

It's not like Calgary can really judge the Italians on this one. The 88 medals had a native Chief with his headdress feathers replaced with ski poles, rifles, skis, and other long & pointy winter items. Pretty fromage IMHO, I'd take the donut hole over that....

maybe they'd be good for sticking your finger through and giving the crowd the Alan Eagleson 1972 Series "Salute"
