Calgary Flames VS San Jose Sharks 7 PM MT; SN1
Let’s finish off the home stand on a high note ahead of the big road trip!!!
Go Flames Go!!
https://calgarysun.com/sports/hockey...arks-at-flames
Quote:
WHY WATCH? LAST NIGHT AT HOME
The Flames wrap up a five-game stretch at the Scotiabank Saddledome. After Tuesday, they’ll head out on a seven game road trip and won’t be back on home ice until Nov. 23. It’s been a solid homestand for the Flames as they’ve posted two shutouts, including Saturday’s 6-0 blanking of the New York Rangers, along with two overtime losses. The ‘C’ of Red is notoriously hard to please and another victory would do wonders for hometown support as they head out on the road.

That looks like a pretty banged up San Jose team. If the boys play a full 60 minutes like the Rangers game this should turn out well.

Banged up indeed, I think they are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak but when I was typing in some of the names my left eyebrow was significantly higher than the right lol. Especially typing in the top 6!

Yep I’m guessing he’ll get Montreal and NYI on the trip.

Taking a while to get to 5000

In year's past I would totally expect the Flames to take this lightly and lose to a team in the state the Sharks are in. Not under Sutter though. They could still lose, but I expect a full effort.

Warms my heart to see Kylington cemented on the 2nd pair.
Also, seems like Cogliano played in the 90's.

Crazy to see the Flames have 15 of their first 22 against the East who they have feasted on this year. Shockingly they are 0-1-3 against the west and 7-0 against the East. Need to get some West wins here hopefully starting tonight

Yeah, none of the Sharks players on the Covid protocol list are available tonight.
Karlsson, Simek, Vlasic, Labanc, Meier, Nieto, Middleton are all out.
Bob Boughner, too.

It's funny because you want to make sure you build a bit of cushion before you get your back up in net. We have a big cushion, but Markstrom is the hottest goalie in the NHL right now, so it's really hard to sit him.
I think you give him the Habs and Sens. Lots of resting time between games for the remainder of November. You might give him one of NYI or Boston if the trip is going well.

I think you'll end up being correct.
I'm just cautious because of what happened with overplaying Markstrom last year.
I guess it's important to note that the upcoming schedule isn't nearly as compressed as last season.

If the Flames can bring the same effort they've shown over the last several games, they should win this one. Please just don't take them lightly, that's all I ask. If you get the early lead, keep your foot on the gas and destroy them.

Looks like quite the goaltending battle:
Reimer 1.60GAA, .946sv%
Markstrom 1.65GAA, .942sv%
Everything is pointing to it being a tight game, which means we should probably expect a 6-5 game. I hope Markstrom will leapfrog Reimer in both stats tonight, and most importantly get the W.

Interesting. I can only raise my right on its own, not my left...

I hope Duehr is in the line up instead of Lewis. It will add some positive vibe and excitement for today's game.
