Who is your dark horse prospect?
Once you kind of look past the top end of our prospects ( Zary, Wolf, Pelletier) and some of the guys that should graduate like Valimaki, Pospisil, Mackey; who is your dark horse prospect?
For me its Nikolayev.
He is a 200 foot center who since coming to North America has also discovered some scoring touch. He is my choice for the Eat Bread award
(the player who best exemplifies coming out of no where to become an impact player)
To my mind we have three legitimate center prospects in the system and he is just below Zary to me, who are both slightly below Ruzicka, as far as who is ready, but both to my mind have higher ceilings as middle six centers ( not sure the skating will give Ruzicka middle six steadily, would also like to be wrong).
Honorable mention to Sergeev, who I heard actually stopped Chuck Norris for a moment the other day , as well as the Heinny Man who I just feel good about and something has to come from the Bennett Boondoggle right?
Your opinions?

Kerins is the right answer, but probably can't be considered a dark horse after this season... Currently leading the OHL in scoring and looks like an all around great forward prospect.
Jack Beck is an interesting prospect! Good production in extremely limited minutes this year too.

Why I didn't have him, kind of hard to not notice the year he is having.

William Stromgren for me, has all the offensive tools to be a really good player, just needs a good personal trainer to fill out his big frame and coaching to play both ends of the ice.

He is difficult to place. size, scoring, skating but I kind of have him with Poirier in my not really sure what I got category and I weighted north american skaters slightly higher as they are well....... here.

Yeah, Heineman doesn’t get much ink and he seems to be doing fine in the men’s league.

Was thinking the same thing. I'm hoping they give him the ice time in the AHL.
His 2019/20 season in the SHL is the 3rd best all time for U23's....only beaten by Rundblad and some rando named Lindblom from 1978/79. I'm not sure this analysis helps the case, but i still like him!
