Default How a hockey jersey saved a life in WWII

Great story of a WWII veteran, who wore his Trail Smoke Eaters jersey under his uniform... and how that saved him.

cool story!

almost like when the germans and the allies were fighting in close proximity and agreed to an informal truce over the xmas holidays so that they could all play soccer!

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

What a great story. I'll have to use it as justification for all the hockey jerseys I have. "But honey, they could save our lives some day..."

That's a great read. Thanks for posting.

I'm always fascinated with war stories, and I was just thinking about the Xmas day truce during WW1 that a poster above just mentioned.

Makes you think, that even though the Allies were fighting the Axis, the soldiers were just normal men with common interests with lives left behind.

I was expecting him to either eat the thing, or have some crazy ninja strangling sessions on nazis or something.

Either way, great story and a great read. Nice find.
