Default Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss

For anyone who hasnt been to one of these games before, it is quite the spectacle. This years game is Sunday afternoon, and the Hitmen have already sold 14,000 tickets for it. They set a CHL record last year with over 13,000 bears thrown on the ice when the Hitmen scored.

This year's game is even bigger, as the Hitmen are in a dogfight for first in their division, much like the Flames. 21-8-0 overall, just two points back of Medicine Hat with a game in hand.

These are from the game two years ago:

Also go to get a glimpse of Justin Pogge the hitmen goalie. Who should be the starter for team Canada this year at the world juniors as far as im concerned.

My wife and I will be heading out in about 20 minutes to go to the game. It's always a complete blast.

Last season, we had first-row tickets, so we (I) got pelted by the teddy bears thrown from the middle of the 100s, then the ones thrown from the back, to the middle, to the front, then from the ones from the front of the 200s and so on ...

It was a hoot!

Brodie Dupont!!!

1-0 Hitmen, mid-way through the first.
They just *had* to score when the Fan went to commercial!

I've really got to get out to one of these games. Hopefully, next year.

11th Annual Teddy Bear Toss

Attendance: 14,662
Teddy Bears: 13,650 -- New Record (Last year:13,156)
And it looks like a Hitmen win, too! Sounds like a real entertaining game.
(I hope Sutter's got Pogge's name on the invite to the WJHC list)

Pogge was unbelievable tonight, stopping 37 of 38 shots, and quite frankly, he only gave up the one because his own defenseman was standing on his stick. He definitely should be on the team, and quite honestly, I'm not sure there is anyone in the CHL who has a better argument to be the starter at this point.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've been highly impressed with Pogge since he came to the Hitmen, much to my chagrin of course! Since Brent Sutter knows him very well you know that he will get a good long look for sure.

Too bad the Leafs drafted Pogge.

That's probably the worst part of there being nets at the ends now; it's a little harder to throw a bear over the net.

Must have been fun as everybody moves over to be able to throw.
