True. If Buffalo sticks to their policy of asking for the top prospect/young player and wanting eastern teams to overpay because they want him out west… they’ll demand Caufield but I don’t think Montreal will be willing to do that after the start he has had to his career. Without including Caufield or Suzuki, I don’t think Montreal would necessarily outbid Calgary with prospects/players. Although they could have the added asset of Carolina’s first round pick… which would be an unprotected pick.

That may be the worst proposal for Eichel put together yet. Two defensemen and two draft picks for Buffalo's franchise player? And the Sabres have to retain $2M AND take a salary dump? That's horrible. The only response is a dial tone.
