Rory Kerins time! Would be extremely cool if he made Team Canada. Not counting on it but...

These are my throw a dart at the board picks. I know so little about the remaining players.

Cole Jordan all the way for me since round 15 and I’m thinking he has an outside chance at breaking into the top 10 ranked for next years rankings. Checks all the boxes you hope to see in a solid top 4 puck moving Dman and I hope a bigger role and full season helps him take a giant step forward in his D+1 year.

Comments from those that know more than me convinced me to go with Jordan

I like Chechelev here, his development will be interesting especially if he get some KHL games this year

I'm once again voting for the mystery box, Jack Beck. Something about how the scouts talked about him has piqued my interest.

This is where it gets tough. Recent first and second rounders are gone. The big AHL performers are gone. The guys with NHL experience that will make a case next season are gone. The fun potential guys like Francis and Poirier are gone.

I am going to go with Parsons. Its a leap. There is a good chance the only reasons the Flames qualified him is because of the expansion draft. Also, he is likely ECHL bound. Its going to take him being healthy, playing very well, and either an injury or bad performance from another goalie for him to even get onto the radar.

Huckins or Whynot are probably the smarter picks. But Parsons has one more year to prove he has NHL potential and I am rooting for him.

Kerins should probably be up next round. He scored 30 goals in his draft year, 26 of them were even-strength. He's got an outstanding 200-ft game.

I'm going to run off the three players, but only graduate one, and then have a full round 19 again tomorrow.

Very interest dynamic in this round: Just one month ago the Flames took Cole Huckins 60 spots ahead of Cole Jordan yet Jordan leads Huckins in the poll.

Obviously I am not one to appeal to authority but typically in these polls of the Calgarypuck masses, the higher pick clearly wins, particularly those from more recent draft years. Makes sense with limited knowledge and viewings to trust the team's judgement but in this case that has not happened.

The Coles do battle! The two public models like Huckins much more than Jordan in this case. Please note that the criteria each model uses for star and NHLer is different! JFresh/TopDownHockey will almost always be lower than Bader's as their thresholds are a much higher standard so adjust accordingly.

Hockey Prospecting
Calgary's own, and fellow Flames fan, Byron Bader runs the excellent site, Hockey Prospecting. You have likely seen his graphics before. At just $25/year his site is a wonderful resource for any fan interested in prospects. You can register here and support Bader's work if you are interested: https://hockeyprospecting.com/register/

JFresh/TopDownHockey
JFresh and his partner TopDownHockey introduced their NHLe model this year. You will be familiar with the NHL player graphics they produce regularly. At $7/month the subscription is a no-brainer for any hockey fan. You can register here and support their work if you are interested: https://www.patreon.com/jfreshhockey
